| Education: Rostov Institute of National Economy, department of logistics (1982); postgraduate course at St Petersburg Institute of Economics and Finance (1993). |
Professional experience: As a boy he wished to become a captain, later on he wanted to be a journalist. He began his career as an engineer at department of wholesale trade organization of Northern Caucasian office of supply planning (1975-1978), for ten years had worked as deputy director of Rostov technical school of commerce, was Vice-Rector of Rostov State Institute of National Economy (1978-1988). From 1993 to 1995 he headed Rostour, a Russian-Turkish joint venture. In 1995 he was appointed head of the chair of commerce and logistics, in 1997 - Dean of Department of Commerce and Marketing at Rostov State Economic University.
An expert of the Ministry of Public Education, President of the South Russian Association of Logistics, member of the Southern Section of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Department of Economics, he considers his teachers and his personal ambitions to be the key factors of his success. |
