| Professional experience: Laryssa Kolbasina moved to Novorossiysk in 1972. She joined the staff of the city’s Museum of History in 1974 and worked there as a guide, research officer, head of the Economy Dept. In 1986, she was appointed director of the museum, in 1988, director of the Novorossiysk Museum-Reserve of History. Under her guidance there were created such expositions as Nikolay Ostrovsky Memorial, Climate and Environment of the Novorossiysk Region, Golden and Silver Artifacts, etc., restored publishing activities. |
| Membership: Secretary of the city Council on Arts (since 1994), member of the city administration’s commissions on heraldry and place-naming. |
| Awards, honorary titles: The Sign of Honor Order (1986), the Jan Masaryk medal For Contribution to Development of Czech-Russian Relationships (2003). The Krasnodar Krai Administration’s Award (2000). Person of the Year (2003) in the category For Work on Protection of the City’s Cultural and Historic Heritage (2003) award. |
