Professional experience: As a kid, Yevgeny Kharitonov wanted to be an Army officer; later he considered a lawyer's career. Since 1973 he has been on public and party service, holding a number of executive positions in Labinsky and Kurganinsky Districts of Krasnodar Territory. 1990—91: Chairman of the Labinsky District Committee of Working Deputies; 1991—93: Director of forestry; 1993—94: Head of the Kurganinsky District Administration; 1994—96: Head of Krasnodar Territory Administration; 1996—98: First Pro-rector of the Kuban State Agricultural University. Since 1998—Director of All-Russian Rice Research Institute. Being the expert in the area of high farming, when asked about key factors of his successful career, he said that he must thank his schoolteacher Inna Kovaliova, as well as the Soviet film 'To Love a Man' for the most he has achieved. |
